Cyril and Methodius-Sts. Cyril and Methodios were two Greek brothers from Thessalonike. They with St. Photios the Great contributed to the ninth and tenth century's "Golden Age". Both were scholars and outstanding intellectuals. Cyril was a professor at the Patriarchal school in Constantinople and did mission work with the Arabs. Methodios was the abbot of a monastery. They both were successful in their work for the conversion of the Khazars above the Black Sea.
